Your first session

What happens before, during and after

The first session lasts 60 minutes. You do not need to prepare anything.

  1. Step 1: Before

You write to us with your name and how to reach you. We send consent forms through the practice's own portal, which asks for contact details and your signature, not a health history. If you pay without insurance, you also receive the good faith estimate in writing.

  2. Step 2: During

Nathan explains how exposure and response prevention works, where confidentiality ends and the possible risks and benefits of therapy. Then he listens. You choose what to say and how much.

  3. Step 3: After

You both decide whether to continue and at what pace. You pay at the end. If you would rather look for someone else, we give you names.

The room

Somewhere to sit and say it

If you prefer video, the session is the same: you in a private place in North Carolina, and Nathan in the office.

  • No health forms before you arrive

  • No rushing: sessions start and end on time

  • Nothing happens in the room without your say

Ready to write to us?

A 15-minute call is a way to see whether we fit. It is not therapy, an evaluation or an assessment.
